Double First Class Honours Degree in Fine Art - Sculpture and History of Art.

Offered place at the Royal College of Art (despite not applying) to study Photography, declined in favour of working in industry.

Joined the BBC TV Visual Effects Department working on a wide variety of programmes such as Black Adder, Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Top of the Pops, Young Ones, Horizon, Tomorrow's World, Dr Who, through to serious drama such as Northanger Abbey and Vanity Fair. Over my nine year period in the department I worked on hundreds of programmes covering the entire spectrum of the Corporation's output. Achieved Supervisor status in 1984.

Left the BBC with three colleagues to form an independent special effects company based in West London going on to work on a wide variety of television programmes, feature films, commercials and channel identities including the iconic BBC 2 Idents of the late eighties / early nineties.

Having developed the company into the largest special effects company in Europe I went entirely freelance in 1995 to concentrate on high end commercials and feature films working on numerous award winning examples of both including commercials for Pirelli, Honda, Sony, Barclays, British Airways, BMW, Swatch, General Motors, Coca Cola, New York Times and features films such as Billy Elliot, House of Mirth, Wonderland, Fanny and Elvis and The Grey Zone featuring Harvey Keitel, Steve Buscemi, David Arquette and Mira Sorvino.

Additional projects include music videos for Paul McCartney and U2, live events including fashion shows and shop openings for Alexander McQueen, stills shoots with Annie Leibovitz, Terence Donovan, Nadav Kander and a project for Nick Knight. I have been the subject of a BBC documentary - 'The Battle of Waterloo', co-designed what has become the industry standard exterior smoke gun and designed and supervised the physical effects for the world's first Imax cinema commercial for Honda.

I have won numerous British Television Advertising Craft Awards for Special Effects - Live Action, and have also been a finalist in the Model Making, Costume, Make-Up and Prosthetics categories.

Moving to Cornwall in 2004 I initially worked for Engineered Arts Ltd as part of the team designing and building the interactive exhibits in the new Core educational building at the Eden Project.

My current work, making commissioned pieces for events and campaigns, continually offers new challenges with unusual and unexpected juxtapositions of diverse materials creating finished objects that are a combination of contemporary culture, art and engineering.
“My experience of the collaborative nature of film making influences my way of working on sculptural projects and the process of taking an idea into three dimensions.”
